We have a unique opportunity to redefine the narrative of the economic and business segment of the civil rights journey in the U.S., initiated by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This legislated act (along with other related acts) has been rightly recognized as legislation supporting “legal supplier diversity,” but is often inaccurately conflated with so-called “illegal DEI.” It’s important to note that diversity, inclusion, and accessibility best practices are perfectly legal as discrimination against any American is illegal.

Entrepreneurship has long been a powerful force for economic development and social change. However, historically underserved protected groups—including women, people of color, and low to moderate-income individuals of all races—still face significant barriers to accessing resources and opportunities. Over the next twenty years, several key trends are expected to shape the entrepreneurial landscape for these groups in the United States.

Virtual platforms and online resources like ours will play a crucial role in connecting underserved entrepreneurs with the tools and support they need to succeed.
